Holly Baldwin, daughter of original fReQ Dave Buddha Baldwin, won the Ladies that Launch final yesterday at Shakespeare County Raceway. BIG respect to all the ladies who took part in the competition, cars and bikes. It was a tough competition with some brilliant close racing and a superb final race between Holly and Angie Wilding -
I'm no sports journo so the numbers didn't get recorded or remembered by me sorry.. Some of that may also be due to the excellent Saturday evenings entertainment, including the all girl rockband The Almaboobies..some fire-juggling(ooops but all done safely away from everything)and an un-named but well know motorcycle rider (haha, we know who you are) appearing in the pits on a quadbike in a pink bikini with a pink wig on !! An official's bicycle is also reported to have taken an adventure of it's own..photo's may exist
Excellent weekend all-round and lets hope that a ladies event will be included in next years calender... Freqracing say thank you to all the track and pit area staff for your part in our fantastic weekend
Thanks also to the knowledge of Smokin Joe and Dave Buddha we now know we need bigger sparks to make all three gears pull us faster than 13sec. Thanks to the huge bump in the shutdown area I also know that I must shut off a lot sooner ...but having 3 gears at last feels sooooo good
Congrats to Holly and Angi! Looks like everyone had a good time! Though from pics we've seen there were a few men trying to get away with wearing pink items so they could qualify for the racing!
Congrats on the gears, Mikey! When are you guys hoping to be out next? C&C
aiming to get it sorted by the Hot Rod Drags and so, funds permitting, we'll be out to play then ... then, with whatever's left of the season we'll each be trying to get that 10...It certainly feels like there's a 10 in there but it relies on the sparks staying alight
