Hi everybody
Here is the brief news from our ‘Fall Nationals’ at the National Finals at Santa Pod, last weekend, 20th & 21st September, with a full writeup to follow as soon as we can!
The Wild Bunch had a field of 8 teams competing at the event: Adam Price in “Go Hard or Go Home!!!”, Keith Crampton in “Soul Town Shaker”, Sean Law in “The Wicked Lady”, Phil James in “Rampage”, Mick Gleadow in “Jurassic Parts”, Bob Hawkins in “Time Traveller II”, Steven East in “Ellie’s in Trouble Now” and Andrew Murphy in “B-Sting”. Unfortunately, Alan Loten & Steve Williams had to withdraw “Paranoia” before the event due to extensive gearbox damage.
Saturday’s weather started dull, and after about one hour of racing, there was some drizzle. The track crew worked hard and the track re-opened around midday. We got our first qualifier at about 2pm, and eventually a second around 5pm. 7 of the 8 teams qualified. Sunday dawned cloudy with some sun and though it got a bit cloudier at times, remained dry all day so we got all 3 rounds of racing completed! There were some exciting races and some notable PB’s, as the various Series were being contested, with the Real Steel Series and Springbridge MSA Challenge going right down to the Final!
Here are the Top 4:
1st Place: Bob Hawkins in “Time Traveller II” 2nd Place: Adam Price in “Go Hard or Go Home!!!” 3rd Place: Sean Law in “The Wicked Lady” 4th Place: Keith Crampton in “Soul Town Shaker”
