Hi everybody

Here are the brief results from the rain affected June Shootout at Shakey last weekend, 11th & 12th June, with a full writeup and results to follow as soon as we can!

The Wild Bunch had a total of 12 teams participating in the event, and the number probably reflected the poor weather forecast. Saturday was plagued by intermittent drizzle, but a few teams got 1 or 2 runs in during the day. Unfortunately, Sunday started wet and remained so, and the officials were forced to call time on the day just after noon. Huge thanks to all the marshals and officials and everyone at Shakey for all their hard work this weekend trying to get some racing in on Saturday!

So, although we tried to get a first round in on the Saturday late afternoon, we were eventually not able to hold any rounds. Here are the Spot Prizes that were won and will be awarded at the Nostalgia Nationals:-

Best Reaction: Bob Morgan in “B-Sting” .048
Fastest MPH: Bob Hawkins in “Time Traveller II” 177.01 mph
Best Appearing Car: Russ Heaven in “Tight Fit”
Best Appearing Team: Rob & Pete ‘Marras’ Brown in “Wrathchild”
Driver’s Choice: Bob Hawkins in “Time Traveller II”

The full line-up was:

• Bob Morgan in “B-Sting”
• Tom Larman in “The Ferret”
• Phil James in “Rampage”
• Rob & Pete Brown in “Wrathchild”
• Neil Ward in “Andromeda"
• Russ Heaven in “Tight Fit”
• Darryl Howells in “Chemical Reaction”
• Alan Loten in “Paranoia”
• Steve Field in “Black Pig Too”
• Andy Stones in “Stoned”
• Jim Tanner in “Shindigger”
• Bob Hawkins in “Time Traveller II”

Thanks again to everyone at Shakey for all their hard work and trying to get as much racing as possible in. Well done to all the Wild Bunch teams who also did their best to put on another good show!

Sending much love to Scottie and Gina and family

Report posted as soon as we can!
