Hi everyone!

Here are the brief results from the brilliant 7th Annual Dragstalgia event at Santa Pod last weekend, 15th & 16th July.

Firstly, huge apologies from me that I could not make it to be with you all for such a fantastic event!! I wish I could have been there and would have if it was at all possible! Missed you all! Huge thanks to Lynne, Mark, Hayley and teams for stepping in and doing an absolutely amazing job running the show! You folks were brilliant!! Thank You!!

The Wild Bunch had an amazing field of 38 teams including 2 teams from France, 1 from Italy, 1 from Switzerland, plus 1 from the South Pacific participating, and a special guest!

The weather was really good on Friday (some teams took advantage of the RWYB session to test). Saturday started okay but then it rained for some time. The track crew worked hard and opened the track at 2:15pm, and ran all the way through to 9pm, though we only got the one round in! Sunday started well and due to not having both runs Saturday we were the first class out. Although clouds threatened at times, there was no rain until a few spots at the very end. We were able to complete 3 rounds of racing.

Here are the Top 4 at the event. Many Congratulations to all:

1st Place: Bob Morgan in “B-Sting” .0053 average (third win of the season!)
2nd Place: Des Taylor in “Thundergod” .0166 average (welcome Des!)
3rd Place: Liz Malcolm in “Jus’ 4 Fun” .0321 average (welcome again Liz!)
4th Place: Jim Tanner in “Shindigger” .0480 average (another top 4 for Jim!)

Special thanks to Steven East and the whole of Team East who put up sponsorship for the Spot Prizes, which will be given out as soon as possible! Very much appreciated!

Here are the Spot Prizes that were won and will be awarded soon! Congratulations to all:-

Closest to Dial-in (on Race-day): Rob Brown in “Wrathchild” .0000 off (perfect ET!! Well done, Marra!)

Quickest E.T. of the event: Valdo Westphal in “Komatsu” altered 8.277
Furthest Travelled: Valdo Westphal in “Komatsu” altered (a mere 10,000 miles from the South Pacific)

Plus special mention goes to Wild Bunch racer Bob Hawkins, running in the Slingshot Showdown, who ran another remarkable PB in “Time Traveller II” of 6.612 !!!! Congratulations, Bob!!

Highlights of this weekend included:

The big and varied fabulous field of Wild Bunch cars and fantastic people, including so many regulars, returning members, new members and guests, 3 full rounds of racing overall, and the Cacklefest (where everyone performed this in memory of Tom Larman, a very fitting tribute to a great friend and led by son Craig); Mark Coulsell and team performed a fireup down the old fireup road to drive on to the track. Race in peace, Tom.

Other highlights include: the absolutely incredible show from all of the Wild Bunch, including loads of gorgeous backup girls, great team wear, great performances and iconic matchups! Everyone really did themselves so very proud yet again!! Well done all! Fantastic!!

Commiserations to all those who had breakages or gremlins, and hope you can all be back out racing soon! Fair play to several teams who had problems over the weekend but managed to fix them and get back out racing!
