Hi everyone!
The Wild Bunch held our AGM on Sunday, 8th February, near Swindon, and many things were discussed, and the Series Dates for 2015 were confirmed. As you will know, Chris has stepped down as Chairman after 13 years of excellent service and 20 years on the Wild Bunch committee. There was a huge vote of thanks given to him at the meeting, so please join in and also thank him for all his hard work, dedication and service which has further developed the Wild Bunch into the fantastic club it is now. Also Tony Smith has stepped down from the committee after 20 years of excellent service and we also thanked him for all his years of service. So please show your appreciation to both. At the meeting we welcomed two new committee members: Steve Field and Mark Hartnell who were both unanimously voted on. Many thanks to them for joining the committee. Thanks to everyone who attended the AGM and for all their contributions.
A 2015 Membership pack with Registration forms, Rules, Dates, etc will be sent out later this week with all the details from the meeting, and full information regarding the race dates. The Rules are largely the same with a few clarifications, and there is one change of date from last season, so please read all this information when you receive it.
Please note that the 2015 Registration form must be completed and returned as well as the fee by two weeks before the start of the season in order to enter events and be registered to collect points. Though please do this even sooner if you can to help with admin, and to ensure you receive newsletters and news about forthcoming events.
Our 2015 season will start at the “Festival of Power” MSA event at Santa Pod, which is a 3-day event over the Easter Weekend, held Friday-Sunday, April 3rd – 5th. Once entry forms have been posted (after the joint SPRC/APIRA meeting on Saturday, 21st February in Northampton) they will be found on the Santa Pod Racers Club page through eurodragster.com (under Associations and clubs Link). The entry deadline for this event is usually 3 or 4 weeks before the event, so it may be Friday, 6th or 13th March, but double check through the SPRC pages through eurodragster.com. Enter as early as possible to ensure your place! This will be an excellent event, and will be our first round of the year, in the 9-event Series which we have renamed the ‘Spirit of Nostalgia Challenge’ so we hope to see lots of you there to start off the season! There will then be another Spirit of Nostalgia Challenge round at Springspeed at Shakespeare County Raceway, and then the first Wild Bunch Series Round is the Yanks weekend RWYB over the second May Bank Holiday, so we hope to see loads of you at that one!
2015 will be the 20th Anniversary running of the Wild Bunch Series. This year it will be based on “Best 4 of 5 rounds to count”. The Spirit of Nostalgia Challenge will be based on “Best 8 out of 9 rounds to count”. The Springbridge MSA Challenge will be “All 5 rounds to count”. The Roy Wilding Nostalgia Race Cars Series will be “All 3 rounds to count”. Shakespeare County Raceway/APIRA Series rounds will “Both rounds count”. WB = Wild Bunch Series, SNC = Spirit of Nostalgia Challenge, SMSA = Springbridge MSA Challenge, RWNRC = Roy Wilding Nostalgia Race Cars Series, SCR = Shakespeare County Raceway (APIRA) Series as indicated.
NOTABLE DATE INFO
There is one notable change this year, in that one of the RWYB events we are running at has changed from the first weekend in June to the third weekend in July.

Aug 29th – 31st (Sat-Mon) --- OPEN SPORT NATIONALS (MSA) --- Shakespeare County (SNC 8, SMSA 4, RW 3, SCR 2)
Sept 19th & 20th --- NATIONAL FINALS (MSA) --- SANTA POD (WB 5, SNC 9, SMSA 5)
There will be trophies for 1st – 4th Places and Spot Prizes at all 9 of these events.
Sponsorship
We have had many offers of sponsorship for individual rounds this year, and these will all be announced in the Registration pack and future information.
Springbridge MSA Challenge Series
We will be holding the ‘Springbridge MSA Challenge’ again this year. There will be a trophy for the Wild Bunch team with the highest points total over the 5 MSA events the Wild Bunch are competing at this season. The points will be awarded as per the ‘National Championship’ points system, not including bonus points. Thanks again to Bob Hawkins of Springbridge Ltd, who has kindly sponsored this Series.
Dragstalgia
There is a concessionary deal for the ‘Dragstalgia’ event at Santa Pod for Wild Bunch members that pre-enter. It is a RWYB event, with no restrictions to R.E.D.’s. Entry details will be in the Reg pack.
Merchandise to celebrate the 20th Anniversary
There will be a few different items for sale to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Wild Bunch. Details will be announced when finalised, so look out for these.
Annual Fancy Dress
The theme for this year’s fancy dress party, which will now be at the ‘July Shootout’ RWYB event on July 18th & 19th at Shakey will be announced. More details on that nearer the time!
Annual Dinner Dance
We have booked the date for the 2015 Wild Bunch Annual Prize Presentation and Dinner Dance!
Saturday, 28th November, once again in the Hamilton Suite, Drayton Manor Park.
Full details of all the dates, rules and info will be sent with the 2015 Registration packs, SO PLEASE REFER TO THE DATE LIST AND INFORMATION IN THE PACK FOR CLARIFICATION.
