Hi everybody! 

Here are the results from the ‘Green Light Nationals’ at Santa Pod on 16^th & 17^th August, sponsored by Bob Hawkins of Springbridge Direct Ltd. Huge thanks to Bob for his ongoing sponsorship, very much appreciated!

The Wild Bunch had a small field of 4 cars participating in the event. We had 5 entries but unfortunately Bobby Wright was unable to attend. We had 4 great qualifying runs on Saturday, and one on Sunday. 

The winners were:

1^st Place: Marie Mills in her purple Altered (Welcome to the Wild Bunch Marie!!)

2^nd Place: Phil James in ‘Rampage’

3^rd Place: Pete Brown in ‘Rebel’

The Spot Prizes were: 

#1 Qualifier: Marie Mills in her purple Altered .0112  off

Best Reaction: Marie Mills in her purple Altered .091

Best Appearing Team: Pete Brown and all at Wrathchild & Rebel Racing in ‘Rebel’

The full line-up was:

·           Pete Brown in ‘Rebel’ – Pete qualified in #4 spot, but mostly because he kept breaking out and running PBs!!  He also ran a PB ET and Speed in the Semi-Final against Phil, with a stunning 8.227 @ 161.34 mph! Fantastic! Well done Pete! He finished in 3^rd place overall for the weekend and the whole team won the commentators’ pick for Best Appearing Team for the great performance, appearance and crew work! Well done team!!

·           Phil James in ‘Rampage’ – Phil qualified in 2^nd place and ran a weekend best of 9.345, only 6 hundredths off his PB without nitrous. He also recorded a 142.54 mph run on his last qualifier, getting very close to his best speed, and one of 5 runs back in the 140mph+ zone. He made a great run in the Final against Marie, breaking out with a 9.355 on a 9.40 Dial, to finish in Runner up spot!

·           Bob Hawkins in ‘Time Traveller II’ - Bob qualified in 3^rd place overall, with a checkout 7.194 @ 148.65mph on a 6.80 Dial-in in the recently refurbished engine. Sadly the slingshot suffered engine damage on Bob’s second run of the weekend! Such a massive shame after all his hard work! Hope he can build up a new motor for the next event! Bset of luck to the whole team!

·           Marie Mills in her purple Altered - a big Wild Bunch welcome to Marie on joining us for her WB debut! Marie had a great weekend earning #1 Qualifier, getting her chassis re-tagged, getting back to her usual low 10-second form, winning Best Reaction and Winning the event and the big prize money! This was her first ever Victory trophy earned at Santa Pod so very well done Marie and team!! So pleased for you! Brilliant to have you and the team running with us!

Massive thanks again to everyone at Santa Pod for all their hard work as always! Well done and thank you to all the Wild Bunch teams who supported this event!

We hope to see a bigger field for the MSUK final event on 19^th - 21^st September!! In the meantime we are looking forward to the NSRA Hot Rod Drags on 12^th - 14^th September which will see the Final of the Roy Wilding Nostalgia Race Cars Series and the penultimate round of both the Wild Bunch Series and Spirit of Nostalgia Series!! It will also see the biggest field of Wild Bunch this season! Really looking forward to both of these great races!!
